Hola Peter, así es, hay una avalancha de aportaciones. Mañana me pondré a patrullar los cambios recientes y a dar la bienvenida a los más de 250 usuarios que hemos recibido hoy. Sería de gran ayuda que modificases cualquier mala edición o acto de vandalismo que vieses en Wikivoyage. En cuanto a tu/usted, yo prefiero el tu, pero hay gente que escribe con usted. Libre competencia y democracia en el contenido?

Hi PeterFitzgerald, I work in a major hotel chain's marketing team, and I spent a lot of time adding our hotels to Wikivoyage Pages with the purpose of add real choices for our readers when planning travel. But today I found all my hard work deleted by you. I went through the Wikivoyage guidelines and conduct codes many times, and as far as I know, I didn't break any rules. Also, I see that other hotels were not affected by this. I would really appreciate an explanation to improve our information on this valuable source, even if I have to submit all the content again. This language version's policy articles are not very well developed, so I'll refer you to en:Welcome, business owners. The basic point, though, is that Wikivoyage is not an advertising service, nor is it a yellow pages. Adding tons of listings for your own business across numerous pages is considered spamming, and is neither desired nor tolerated.

We have a lot of trouble with hotel spammers, and I'm very sad to see Hilton enter the fray—I haven't seen Hilton representatives here before, and I have been giving Hilton properties preferential treatment when trimming listings since it is the only major hotel chain that hasn't been spamming Wikivoyage on a mass scale.

The people who work to keep these wikis in good shape are all unpaid volunteers, and the time wasted moderating with pushy business owners is time lost building free travel guides for all the world to enjoy. --Peter ^discusión 17:59 24 sep 2009 (EDT)

Hi Peter, Thanks for the clarification.

I work with over 20 hotels in the region, that's why all the contributions at once may had seem as a spamy practice. But that't not the way it is... I've just added each hotel on the city where they are, just with the hotel name, address, phone number and website. NO EXTRA CONTENT at all.

I'm just helping the hotels because they are not familiar with the wiki platform and many of them tried it but couldn't make it.

I'm a Wikivoyage reader myself on my personal travel (I'm passionate about traveling) and I always appreciate having complete information of many lodging options on the cities I visit.

As Business Owners page says:"Welcome, business owners. We mean that. The owners (and loyal employees) of hotels, restaurants, bars, attractions, and other businesses catering to travellers are very welcome here. Everyone is invited to share information that helps others in their travels. Everyone is invited to participate in the guide's development and decision-making."...

I'm still not sure why you consider my posts spammy. As I told you, I had read all the guidelines before posting the information here, since I work for a serious and ethical company.

Would you rather have each hotel post their info by themselves? Will it work for you?
